I don't miss those days. The only reward is that they grow up. It is a thankless job. People seems to think it is not only your choice to stay home but you chose to have kids, so suck it up. I have to admit that now that my kids are older they pretty much take care of themselves. However I can think of very few occasions in the past 11 years that I have had time to myself or a night out. It's like waiting for the planets to align.

I had no idea how hard it was to be a SAHM until my maternity leave started. I'll admit, I was like, "Shouldn't be too hard. Sure, I'll have a baby to take care of, but I'll have plenty of time to get stuff done." HA!! Who knew that an 8lb baby was so much work?! I feel like I have to write "peeing" into my schedule or else I wouldn't find the time to sit on the toilet.

I know that my wife was a stay at home mom while raising our three kids, and I would not have that job for anyone. Now that it's over life is much better. Some may think that it's easy taking care of kids at young ages, but that is far from the truth. You don't have a minute to yourself, except perhaps when the little buggers are asleep.
